With the resolution getting green signal in the House, the CM Omar stated that they expect that the classes at the University would start from April next year.
Regarding the location for the National Law University, CM Omar said since there has been no decision with regard to location yet, he has directed officials to identify an apt location for it. However, at present, we have a space available in Ompura, Budgam, which is lying vacant.
Bhat introduced the resolution to the House, seeking construction of the NLU in Bandipora constituency.
MLA Sonwari, Hilal Akbar Lone, however, brought amendment demanding the University in his constituency.
Notably, the resolution was passed by the House by voice vote after the CM Omar said his Government has no objections to it.
