Jammu, Apr 07: Authorities on Tuesday morning allowed passenger traffic to resume in both directions on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) after restoration work cleared the route, officials confirmed.
Senior Superintendent of Traffic (National Highway) Raja Adil said that vehicular movement has been restarted from Jammu towards Srinagar and from Srinagar to Jammu following improvement in road conditions and reopening of the highway.
Officials have appealed to drivers to strictly follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking or using the wrong lane, warning that such violations can quickly lead to congestion and delays along the busy corridor.
Members of the public have also been advised not to rely on unverified information about road status and to check updates only through official Traffic Police communication channels, including their social media accounts and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
