MARCH 12: On Wednesday, the Delhi Court asked the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to state its stand on jailed MP Engineer Rashid’s plea seeking to attend the ongoing session of Parliament.
Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid also known as Engineer Rashid is facing charges under terror funding case.
Besides, a bench of justices had issued notice to NIA for Engineer Rashid’s custody parole.
It is learnt that the Court had asked the National Investigation Agency to respond to Er Rashid’s plea on March 3.
Jailed MP Baramulla Engineer Rashid, has defeated NC vice president and Chief Minister J&K Omar Abdullah and People’s Conference leader Sajad Lone in the 2024 Parliamentary Polls.
Pertinent to mention that, Engineer Rashid was given interim bail to campaign for Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir in the month of September 2024.
Rashid is Tihar jail for the terror-funding case.
