Jammu: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has suspended Section Officer in the Agriculture Production Department (Animal/Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries) amid ongoing investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Through a formal order, issued by Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, the government has placed Asif Ahmad Bhat, Section Officer in the Agriculture Production Department (Animal/Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries), under suspension. The suspension, effective from March 7, 2025.
This action comes after an FIR (RC0042025A0002) was registered against Mr. Bhat on March 5, 2025, by the CBI’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu. In line with the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1956, the suspension has been ordered pending the outcome of the inquiry.
