Ramban, September 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Education Department has suspended a government school teacher in Ramban district following allegations of harassment involving a female student.
As per an official order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Ramban, on September 15, 2026, the teacher was posted at Government High School Harroge in the Gool education zone.
The suspension was ordered under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, based on the findings of an inquiry committee constituted on September 14 to examine the allegations.
According to the order, the teacher was placed under suspension with immediate effect in connection with the alleged incident involving a student of the school.
During the suspension period, the teacher has been attached to Government Primary School Bhatta in Zone Khari.
Copies of the order have also been sent to the Director of School Education Jammu, District Development Commissioner Ramban and concerned zonal education officers for further necessary action and compliance.
