JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs has issued a circular directing all departments to submit legislative proposals, including draft bills and notifications, well in advance for the upcoming Budget Session starting on March 3.
In view of the examination of proposal for introduction in the Legislative Assembly, the Government has asked officials to draft bills and other legislative proposals with legal vetting. Significant emphasis is laid on the Part -C of Transaction of Business of Government of UT of J&K Rules 2019 which deals with procedure for dealing with proposal for initiating legislation and consultation of Department of Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
The Government has asked the departments to fulfil the requirements of the law, moreover, the proposals which require recommendations of Lieutenant Governor J&K should be submitted 21 days in advance. Pertinent to mention that, the Budget Session of Legislative Assembly will commence from March 3.
