Jammu: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a Union Territory Level Steering Committee (UTLSC) for the implementation of the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme in the region.
The decision was announced through Government Order No. 352-JK(GAD) of 2025, dated March 11, 2025.
The Chief Secretary will head the committee as the Chairman, while senior officials from various key departments will serve as members. These include the Administrative Secretaries of the Power Development Department, Finance Department, Housing & Urban Development Department, and Transport Department. The Divisional Commissioners of both Kashmir and Jammu, along with the CEOs of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) and Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL), are also part of the committee. Additionally, the Chairman has the authority to include any other member as required.
The committee will operate under the guidelines set by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, ensuring effective implementation of the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
The order was issued by M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government. Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Principal Secretaries of the Power Development Department, Finance Department, and the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.
The formation of this committee is expected to accelerate the integration of eco-friendly electric buses, enhancing sustainable urban mobility across the Union Territory.
