MARCH 29: Peoples Democratic Party leader and MLA Pulwama, Waheed ur Rehman Parra raised concerns over the shutting down of Special Cells (SC) for Women in Jammu & Kashmir.
Parra termed it immature decision that poses grave danger to the lives of women. He questioned the Government over commitment for Women’s Safety in J&K.
Waheed Parra said that The Special Cells for Women, established in 2021, aimed to provide support to victims of domestic and other forms of violence. But, their funding under National Commission for Women (NCW), is set to end with the close of the financial year. This will affect future of women.
