JULY 28: With spiritual fervour and religious gaiety, the first batch of more than 1,000 pilgrims was flagged off by LG Manoj Sinha in the wee hours of Monday for Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra in Poonch.
Marking the commencement of 12-day-long yatra to holy shrine of Budha Amarnath Ji nestled in Himalayas of Poonch, pilgrims from all walks of lives were part of it.
Amid the heightened escort of security forces, the convoy left from Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu.
Chanting “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bam Bam Bole”, the pilgrims were brimmed with zest and zeal.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar Jangid; Inspector General of Police Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti, DIG Samba-Kathua-Ramban range Shiv Kumar and other contingents of Police were present on the occasion.
LG Manoj Sinha posted on X, “Felt blessed to flag off holy Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra. The sacred journey to the abode of Mahadev is an enlightening experience. I strongly believe this pilgrimage is the greatest alchemy and unveils secrets of life before the devotees.”
Sinha expressed strong desire that there will be much impressive footfall in the pilgrimage as compared to the previous year owing to enhancement in facilities.
