JAMMU,  May 8: Senior BJP leaders visited Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, to meet the injured and assess the medical response being provided, amid ongoing cross-border shelling.
Sat Sharma, President, J&K BJP, Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha), accompanied by other BJP leaders visited Government Medical College, Jammu to inquire about the well-being of the injured in the ongoing shelling from across the borders.
They were accompanied by BJP Jammu District President Rajesh Gupta, along with party leaders Ravikant, Kushant Prajapati, and others.
During the visit, the leaders interacted with doctors, hospital staff, and family members of the injured civilians. They reviewed the medical facilities and inquired into the nature of injuries sustained in the shelling.
Expressing deep concern over the situation, Sat Sharma condemned the unprovoked shelling by Pakistan, labeling it a “cowardly act” deliberately targeting innocent civilians. The visit underlines the party’s solidarity with the border residents and its unwavering commitment to national security and humanitarian response, he said.
“Many people have been injured and lives have been lost. It is not just the responsibility of the government, but also of civil administration and all political parties to ensure that the citizens of our country are protected from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity,” said Sat Sharma. He further stressed the need to provide the best possible medical treatment to the injured, assuring that BJP stands with the victims and their families.
Sunil Sharma reiterated the importance of strengthening emergency healthcare infrastructure. “Every life is precious. Our hospitals must be well-equipped and ready to handle a sudden influx of casualties. Immediate care and proper stabilization must be ensured, not just for civilians but also for our brave security personnel,” he stated.
Jugal Kishore Sharma emphasized that the Modi government is committed to the safety and well-being of every citizen. He assured that all necessary steps are being taken to support those affected. He said that BJP would continue to work closely with local administration to facilitate relief, rehabilitation, and medical support for the victims.
