Leh, Apr 30: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Leh on Thursday for a two-day visit, during which he will participate in a series of official and ceremonial engagements, officials said.
According to officials, the visit coincides with Buddha Purnima and the first-ever international exposition of the holy relics of Gautama Buddha, which is scheduled to begin on May 1.
During his stay, the Home Minister is expected to attend the inaugural ceremony of the exposition and review ongoing developmental projects in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Senior officials from the administration and security agencies are also likely to brief him on key issues related to governance and development in the region.
