MARCH 8: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has said that the revocation of AFSPA is highly possible but the incumbent situation is not feasible for it.
While speaking at an event in New Delhi, General Upendra Dwivedi said that decision pertaining to removal of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) will be taken by Union Home Minister and Defence Minister.
“The removal of AFSPA will takes its due time,” Army Chief said dropping the hints of its possibility.
He added that there was a time when situation in districts like Doda, Rajouri and Kishtwar was looking to be good to a larger extent but induction of additional 15,000 troops in those areas to curb terrorism have raised concerns in view of erstwhile security.
