Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is set to take up a series of Private Members’ Resolutions on Friday, with issues including regularisation of workers, parking facilities, employment, land for homeless families and restoration of water resources featuring on the agenda.
The House will also take up five Calling Attention motions concerning the delayed construction of a Primary Health Centre building at Diver Lolab, damage caused by heavy rains and landslides in Rajouri and Poonch, drinking water shortage in Trehgam, and crop and orchard damage caused by recent hailstorms in Bandipora and Bijbehara areas.
Among the Private Members’ Resolutions, BJP MLA Yudhvir Sethi is scheduled to move a resolution seeking a comprehensive, time-bound Master Plan for adequate parking facilities in Jammu East, particularly in congested markets, commercial areas, major junctions and residential localities.
MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta will move a resolution urging the government to frame and notify a comprehensive and uniform policy for regularisation of Daily Rated, Casual, NYC, Mid-Day Meal and similarly placed workers across government departments and agencies.
Other resolutions include a proposal by Salman Sagar seeking changes to the status of the Phaak area and Rural Block Harwan under the Srinagar Master Plan, while Qaysar Jamshaid Lone will seek expediting of the Lolab-Bandipora Tunnel and road project.
Irfan Hafiz Lone will move a resolution seeking five marlas of land for eligible homeless families, while Mir Saifullah will seek a comprehensive policy with measurable annual targets for job creation and livelihood opportunities for educated and unemployed youth, along with accelerated recruitment against vacant posts.
Nizam-Ud-Din Bhat will also move a resolution proposing 2027-28 as the year for retrieval of water resources through restoration of water channels, lost kuls, shrunk water bodies and encroached wetlands.
Several amendments to the proposed resolutions have also been listed for consideration during Friday’s proceedings.
