Srinagar, Sep 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Casual/Daily Wagers Forum held a peaceful protest at Sher-i-Kashmir Park in Srinagar on Friday, calling on the government to resolve the long-pending issues faced by casual and daily-wage workers.

The protesters said they want the authorities to take their grievances seriously and initiate steps to address their demands. They maintained that the demonstration was being conducted peacefully and through democratic means.

The workers also warned that they could be forced to take a stronger step if their concerns continue to remain unresolved. They appealed to the government to intervene before the situation reaches such a stage.

The forum further cautioned that workers may consider stopping the water supply if no action is taken on their demands, which could affect the supply of water to the public.

The workers said they are responsible for providing services to people and urged the government to resolve their issues rather than push them towards taking such a step.

The forum said it would continue to raise the concerns of casual and daily-wage workers through peaceful means and urged the authorities to act on their long-standing demands.
