Rajouri, June 6: Security forces have intensified their ongoing search mission in the remote forested belts of Manjakote in Rajouri district, where efforts to locate suspected militants have now continued for nearly two weeks.
Teams from the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF remain deployed across the rugged terrain of Gambhir Mughlan and adjoining areas, carrying out extensive combing operations and area domination exercises.
As part of heightened security measures, personnel have established checkpoints at key locations and are conducting verification drives, including the inspection of identification documents of travellers and local residents moving through the region.
The operation was initiated after security agencies received specific intelligence regarding the possible presence of armed militants in the area. Officials said the strategy focuses on maintaining a tight security grid, restricting movement routes, and systematically searching forest pockets to prevent any escape.
Search teams continue to sweep difficult terrain while surveillance and monitoring activities have been strengthened across the sector. Authorities have not reported any major breakthrough so far, but the operation remains active as forces continue their efforts to locate the suspected militants.
