Srinagar, Apr 30: Cyber Police Kashmir has registered an FIR against Iltija Mufti and others over alleged circulation of separatist-related content on social media, sources said on Thursday.
According to sources, the case was registered after a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), reportedly by Iltija Mufti, featuring late separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, came to the notice of authorities.
The FIR, numbered 11, has been registered under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with acts that may threaten the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India.
Officials said the FIR also includes unnamed individuals who allegedly shared or amplified the content online. Cyber Police Kashmir has initiated a detailed investigation to determine intent and the extent of circulation of the video.
