Jammu: In a fresh administrative reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir government has recalled six officers from the Union territory of Ladakh while simultaneously deputing another set of officials to the Himalayan region.
According to Government Order No.1113-JK(GAD) of 2025 issued by the General Administration Department on Tuesday, five junior scale JKAS officers serving in Ladakh have been recalled to Jammu and Kashmir.
The officers include Rehmatullah Butt, Sandeep Singh, Akshay Sharma, Vivek Rattan, and Mohit Sharma.
In place of these officials, the government has ordered the deputation of six officers to Ladakh. Those sent on deputation include Soheel Noor Shah, JKAS, Special Secretary to the Government in the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment; Huma Khan, Jr. Scale JKAS, Under Secretary in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K; Ayaz Ahmed, Jr. Scale JKAS, presently BDO Kaprin in Shopian; Mohd. Abrar, Jr. Scale JKAS, BDO Qila Darhal; Mohd. Sufder Bhat, Jr. Scale JKAS, BDO Kalarose in Kupwara; and Mr. Anupam Bhardwaj, Jr. Scale JKAS, BDO Dali-Udhyanpur.
The government has specified that the deputation of these officers to Ladakh will be for a period of two years or until they are recalled. Their lien and promotion prospects will continue to remain with the General Administration Department of Jammu and Kashmir, while they will also be entitled to incentives as may be announced by the Union territory of Ladakh.
The order further mentions that the officers are deemed to have been relieved with immediate effect and have been directed to report to the General Administration Department of Ladakh for further posting.
The reshuffle comes “in the interest of administration” and was issued with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
