JULY 10: Under the tight security cover, a fresh batch of more than 7,300 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for Holy pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The cave shrine dedicated the Lord Shiva nestled in South Kashmir’s Himlayas has witnessed approx 1.28 lakh footfall of the pilgrims.
It is learnt that the shrine located at a height of 3,880 metres, has twin routes – one is traditional route of Pahalgam which is 48-km track in Anantnag district and other is shorter Baltal track of 14-km in Ganderbal district.
As per the reports, the ninth batch of 7,307 pilgrims including 5,534 men, 1,586 women, 25 children and 162 sadhus and sadhvis left Jammu in the wee hours of Thursday for Holy yatra.
LG Manoj Sinha had flagged off the Yatra from Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp on July 2.
Pertinent to mention that the 38-day-long pilgrimage will culminate on August 9, 2025.
