MAY 13: Three terrorists have been gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports citing another terrorist could be present in the area.
Earlier, a fierce encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Shopian.
It is learnt that a joint team of J&K Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO).
Following the credible inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, the security forces approached the spot and hiding terrorists fired upon indiscriminately which triggered gunfight.
This is the first encounter that has begun after Operation Sindoor and Pahalgam carnage which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians.
