DC Bandipora hands over 54 paddy thrushers, 2 irrigation pump sets, 2 power tillers to Sarpanchs for community use in Villages

BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 12: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza on Thursday distributed Agriculture tools for the community use at Panchayat level in Bandipora district
Speaking on the occasion, DC Bandipora said that the Government is keen to give flip to the agriculture sector to double the income of the farmers in next few years. He said for the purpose efforts are being made to use modern farming techniques to improve the crop production. He said the scientists are regularly interacting with the farmers and making them aware about modern farming techniques besides providing high yield seeds.
While interacting with the Panchayat representatives, DC urged them to inform the farmers about several schemes rolled out for the farmers. He said the Government is implementing Crop Insurance Scheme to boost the agriculture sector.
On the occasion, the DDC Bandipora handed over 54 thrushers, 60 agriculture tool kits, 2 power tillers and 2 irrigation pump sets to the Sarpanchs for the community use in their respective Panchayats.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Agriculture Officer Farooq Ahmad Dandoo said that the department has assisted the farmers in establishing 51 Mushroom units in the district. He said that the department regularly conducted awareness programs in each Panchayat to acquaint the farmers about modern farming techniques.
On the occasion, the District Horticulture Officer said the department distributed 300 tool kits among orchardists. He further said that to improve the produce, the department is going to distribute high quality fruit plants including High Density Apple and walnut plants among the orchardists besides given boost to the mushroom and apiculture industry in the district.
