Director Horti inspects HD Plant nurseries in Pulwama

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 09: Director Horticulture, Kashmir, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat accompanied by other senior officers today visited district Pulwama and inspected various High Density (HD) plant nurseries.
During the visit, the Director was briefed about various varieties of High Density Plants which are being propagated in the nurseries established by fruit growers. He instructed the officials to focus on propagation of those varieties which have good acceptance in the field. He urged the growers to contact Nursery Registration Officers of the Department for registration of their Nurseries and also contact designated authorities for post-Quarantine facilities of High Density Plants.
He also visited various orchards where fruit harvesting is in full swing.
Later, he also visited Shopian and Kulgam and had detailed interactions with the fruit growers. He highlighted various government schemes with special focus on Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) and asked them to avail their benefits.
The Director issued instructions to the field staff to remain available for the orchardists of their respective areas to extend any kind of assistance.
