Awareness drive on plastic waste management held at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: An awareness drive was conducted by Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal on the theme, “Ban on single use Plastic and its waste management” at Naranag, Ganderbal, in collaboration with Forest Protection Force, Social Forestry and State Forest Corporation of Ganderbal district.

During the drive, the locals were made aware of the ill effects of the Single Use Plastic and Polythene on the environment. The locals were apprised about the ban on single use plastic and were encouraged to use other eco-friendly alternatives.

The initiative was carried out in pursuance to the Calendar of Awareness Activities (Plastic Waste Management) schedule issued by District Administration Ganderbal which started from September 11, 2019 and shall go on till 3rd of October, 2019.

A cleanliness drive was also conducted in which Plastic waste was collected and dumped at one place for its disposal as scheduled on 3rd of October, 2019.
