Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign: DDC Kulgam chairs meeting with PRI representatives

KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 17: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat today chaired a meeting with Panchs and Sarpanchs to discuss the mission to eradicate polythene from every nook and corners of the District Kulgam and to ensure proper implementation of the, Swachhta-Hi-Seva campaign.
The meeting was also attended by ADDC, ACR, DPO and other officers.
Speaking on the occasion DDC said that the need of hour is to discourage the use of polythene and single use plastic items. He added that Polythene and single use plastic items are great threat to environment and it also effects crop productivity and pose a great threat to flora and fauna.
He urged the Panches and Sarpanchs to play a proactive role in generating awareness among people against polythene and single use plastic and to make the Swachhta-Hi-Seva campaign a great success.
He also directed the officers to take all requisite steps to make district single use plastic free.
