POSHAN Maah: series of activities being held across Kathua

Kathua, September 17: A series of activities are being organised by different departments across Kathua district in connection with POSHAN Maah.
Distribution of pamphlets, POSHAN seminar/workshop, POSHAN WALK, POSHAN Pe Charcha, POSHAN Rally, POSHAN Chaupal in villages are being held jointly by ICDS, Social Welfare, Rural Development, PHE, Health, School Education and Higher Education department at block level for generating awareness among students and other stakeholders so that mal nourishment gets eliminated from our society, DDC said, a meeting chaired by the District Development Commissioner Dr. Raghav Langer was informed here today.
The meeting was convened to review the action taken regarding the POSHAN Maah in the district and to discuss new activities for sensitizing maximum number of targeted populace.
Daily activities under POSHAN Maah are being updated on Jan Andolan Dashboard at www.POSHANabhiyaan.gov.in, while over 111 activities undertaken by different departments have been already updated on the portal, the meeting was told.
The POSHAN Abhiyaan is Central Government`s priority flagship program which strives to reduce the level of stunting, under-nutrition, low birth weight in children and anemia in adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers as well as children.
The DDC underlined the need for participation of all stakeholders and bringing about a behavioral change at individual and community level for achieving the desired goals of the campaign.
Stress was laid on five critical components of POSHAN Abhiyaan- First 1000 days of the child, Anaemia, Diarrhoea, Hand Wash & Sanitation, and Wholesome meal with diet diversity.
ADC, Ghanshyam Singh, ACD, Sukhpal Singh, CPO, Uttam Singh, DSWO, Abdul Rahim, CEO, Prem Nath, CMO, Dr. Ashok Chaudhary, XEN PHE, CDPOs, CAO, Distt. Youth Coordinator NYK, Nodal Officer RBSK, Principal GDC Kathua, EOs and other concerned were present at the meeting.
