DDC holds public grievances redresal camp at Banihal

RAMBAN, JULY 20: District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today visited Banihal and conducted public grievances redressal camp to listen to grievances and problems of public for speedy disposal.
SDM, Zamir Rishu, Executive Engineer PMGSY, Tehsildar, BDOs, PRIs, MC members, prominent citizens and other concerned officers attended the camp.
During the camp, DDC reviewed the development scenario and implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes in the area which included pension schemes, AYUSHMAN BHARAT, Pradhan Mantri KIsan Samman Nidhi Yojna, National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), Pradhan Mantri Shramyogi Maan Daan Yojana (PMSMDY), Integrated Social Society Scheme etc.
DDC resolved most of highlighted issues on the spot by passing necessary instructions to the concerned officers. He directed the officers to remain in contact with the people, pay regular visits and organize camps in all remotest areas to spread awareness regarding flagship schemes, water conservation and rain water harvesting.
Responding to the issues of roads connectivity and maintenance, DDC directed SDM Banihal to personally monitor all ongoing PMGSY roads projects. BDOs were directed to develop water bodies and check dams.
DDC also reviewed functioning of Municipal Committee (MC) Banihal.
Responding to issues of Banihal town, he informed that the land has been provided to MC for establishment of solid waste management plant.
Earlier, the people apprised the DDC of various demands and problems being faced by them including shortage drinking water, land compensation, irregular power supply, congestion of traffic, shortage of medical staff in hospitals, irregularity in old age pensions, blacktopping of roads, payments of PMAY etc.
He assured the public their genuine issues would be looked into for redressal.
