FTC Jammu hosts farmers’ training at Udhampur village

UDHAMPUR, JULY 19: Farmers Training Centre, Jammu today organized one day Farmers Training Camp here at village Sundrani.
Over 50 farmers of the area participated in the programme organized on the directions of Director Agriculture Jammu P. S. Rathore.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Director Trainings, advised the farmers to diversify their activities such as Vegetable Cultivation, Mushroom Growing, Apiculture, Dairy Farming, Horticulture etc to increase their income. He explained them the importance of Agricultural Mechanization and maintenance of Soil Health for better results besides reducing the cost of cultivation.
Prominent farmers and Elected Panchayat Representatives raised various issues and problems with regard to Subsidy on Borewells, Solar Water Pumps, KCCs, Crop Insurance, Soil Health Cards etc. Farm Management Specialist, FTC Jammu Deepak Kumar, replied to the queries raised by the farmers.
Small Hand Tools and literature on various schemes and programmes for the awareness of the farmers was also distributed on the occasion.
