Ageing with Dignity Campaign: DLSA Samba organises sensitization program on “Safety and Security of Senior Citizen”

JAMMU, JUNE 12: District Legal Service Authority, Samba today organised a sensitization program on “Safety and Security of Senior Citizen” as part of 'World Elder Abuse Awareness Day ' for creating awareness with regard to “Ageing with Dignity Campaign”.
The event was aimed at to sensitize the Police personals of the district regarding the special psycho social needs of senior citizens besides elder abuse.
On the occasion, Secretary DLSA, Swati Gupta, sensitized the target group regarding the challenges being faced by senior citizens through a power point presentation. The provisions of the senior citizen Act were also touched and awareness was generated among the Police personal regarding the identification, treatment and prevention of elder abuse. The police personals were urged to carry on awareness drives on the topic at community level for identifying and treatment of cases of elder abuse.
Additional Munsiff Samba, Jyoti Bhagat, was also present on the occasion.
