General Observer holds meeting with nodal officers at Samba

SAMBA, MARCH, 26: The Election General Observer Amit Rathore for Assembly constituency Samba and Vijaypur in presence of District Election Officer Samba, Sushma Chauhan and Dr. Koushal Kumar Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, held a meeting on Tuesday morning with Nodal Officers of MCC, MCMC, DCC, Law and Order and others of Samba district.
During the meeting General Observer sought coordination from the nodal officers with regard to carrying out complete election process in a transparent and responsive manner.
He directed them to closely monitor unusual or doubtful activities especially while the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is enforced. He also exhorted them to coordinate with their counterparts and facilitate for the smooth conduct of Lok Sabha Election 2019.
Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Kulbhushan Khajuria and Vijay Sharma for Samba and Vijaypur constituency respectively gave brief presentations regarding total polling stations, updation of electoral rolls and basic minimum facilities including for PwDs at polling stations.
The District Election Officer (DEO), Samba, Sushma Chauhan also directed the concerned officials to monitor the functioning of flying squads, static surveillance teams and video surveillance teams in the field and urged officials to discharge their duties effectively to ensure free and fair election in the district.
The Nodal officers for expenditure, material management, complaint monitoring, transport management, besides other officers also participated in the meeting.
Meanwhile, Election Observer also supervised the setup of EVM strong room, EVM commissioning room and distribution centre at DC office Samba for Samba constituency and at Community facility centre (CFC) Vijaypur for Vijaypur constituency respectively.
