General Elections 2019: DEO Budgam reviews election preparedness

BUDGAM, MARCH 22: District Election Officer Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting of officers to review the preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani (Nodal Officer, Law and Order, Force Deployment), Dr Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, IAS Probationer, Dy. DEO, Nuzhat Qurashi (Nodal Officer Election Planning and DEMP), ACD Budgam, Waseem Raja, ACR Budgam, Zaffar Shawl, SDMs, DIO, Showkat Hussain Ganie, (Nodal Officer, Media Communications and MCMC), Tesildars, AROs, all Nodal Officers and others.
On the occasion, the DEO stressed on concerned to ensure all polling stations are equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) including provision of ramp and toilet facilities for the hassle-free conduct of elections.
She directed Tehsildars and AROs to visit each polling station in their jurisdiction to ensure that these are equipped with AMF.
The DEO also reviewed the creation of woman polling station, Model Polling Station, boarding and lodging for polling parties.
Verification of advertisement before circulation in the print and electronic media, identification of videographers for their deployment with AROs for covering the events pertaining to public meeting and rallies were also discussed during the review meeting.
She emphasized on imposition of MCC in letter and spirit and asked concerned to keep close vigil and report if anyone indulges in its violation anywhere in the district.
Stressing on the smooth dispatch of postal ballots to service voters, the DEO asked the concerned Nodal officer to coordinate with the Nodal officer Srinagar for hassle-free dispatch of the same.
On the occasion, the participants through a power point presentation were sensitized about the use of CVigil and Suvidha ECI applications to report MCC violations or permission of conducting of meetings and rallies.
Emphasizing on free and fair conduct of polls across the district, the DEO directed that all the designated officers must attend all the training session to be held for the poll preparedness.
