Srinagar, Jan 21: Reacting to BJP national General Secretary Ram Madhav’s claim that his party will form a stable government post elections with some friends in J&K, National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah said it needs to be seen if these “friends” have the courage to admit their pre-poll alliance or they want to deliver a PDP-BJP type surprise.

Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of J&K, also rejected any post-poll alliance with the BJP.

“Dost dost na raha........ let’s see if these “friends” have the courage to admit their pre-poll alliance or do they want to deliver a PDP-BJP type surprise. And before you ask - no @JKNC_ isn’t one of these friends,” Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

On Sunday, Mr Madhav, while addressing reporters in Jammu, said the BJP and “some friends” will form a stable government after Assembly elections are held in the state.

The BJP was in an alliance with PDP in the Jammu and Kashmir government. However, Mehbooba Mufti was forced to resign as the chief minister in June last year after the BJP pulled out support from the coalition government in the state. This led to imposition of Governor’s rule in J&K. Six months after the imposition of Governor’s rule, President’s rule was imposed in the state.

The NC has also been in an alliance with the BJP during Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government in which Omar Abdullah was a union minister.
