Minjee delegation meets EC Health; projects public issues

KARGIL, JANUARY 18: A delegation from Minjee led by the local Councillor Sheikh Ghulam Mehdi called on the Executive Councillor for Health Zakir Hussain and took up with him various issues and demands of the people of the area.
The delegation projected several demands including the augmentation of water supply, health care facilities, release of payments on account of land compensation besides other related demands.
Officers including the Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineer R&B II and In Charge Executive Engineer PHE were also present on the occasion.
The Executive Councillor gave a patient hearing to all issues raised by the delegation and assured them of the fulfillment of all genuine concerns in a phased manner.
Zakir issued on spot instructions to the concerned officers to take immediate requisite steps so as to redress people’s issues.
The EC directed In-Charge Executive Engineer PHE to visit Minjee area immediately to take on spot assessment of the availability of drinking water to the people.
Meanwhile, the In-Charge Executive Engineer R&B II informed the EC that necessary allotment to start various works in Minjee area has already been issued, while as the land compensation cases are also expected to be cleared in near future. He further stated that the Art and Craft building at High School Minjee is in the final stages of completion and will be handed over to the concerned department in the coming months.
The Chief Medical Officer informed the EC that sufficient quantity of medicines is available at the health centre in the area and the matter with regard to the establishment of Medical Sub Center at Gramthang village has already been taken up with the Government.
