Bandipora: ADC reviews preparation for IPPI Prog

BANDIPORA, JANUARY 17: The Department of Health is all set to administer Polio Drops to 61000 children in Bandipora district and arrangements have been put in place for the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Program in the district.
This was given out in a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir on Thursday to review the arrangements for the conduct of IPPI Program in the district.
The meeting was attended by District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Altaf Hussain, Nodal Officer Indian System of Medicines (Bandipora) Dr Iftikar Gazi, District Mass Media Officer Abdul Hamid Beigh, Deputy District Mass Media Officer Javid Iqbal, representative of Education Department and other Medical Blocks besides other senior officials of the district.
The meeting was informed that 61000 children of 0-5 years age in the district will be administered Polio drops on 3rd February. Officials said 333 vaccination booths have been established across the district and 1332 workers have been engaged for the job besides 412 Asha workers, 437 Anganwadi workers, 393 health workers and 70 supervisors.
Besides this, 13 cold chain points and 5 transit points have been established in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir stressed on the officials to put in their best for the success of the drive so that no child is left out from the immunization process. He asked the officials of Education Department to ensure announcements in Coaching Centres, winter tutorial centres and colleges regarding pulse polio immunization dates besides directing Mass Media Officials of Health department to ensure wide publicity to the Pulse Polio Dates by making announcements and using social media, Print and Electronic Media to inform the general public. He called for utilizing services of NYK volunteers if the need arises.
