Pak violates ceasefire on LoC, IB; BSF jawan injured

Jammu, Jan 15: Pakistani troops yet again violated the ceasefire agreement on Tuesday and fired unprovoked on the Line of Control and International Border across Jammu region.

Meanwhile, one BSF Jawan sustained injuries in the cross-border firing.

“Pakistani Army this morning violated the ceasefire in Sunderbani Sector at about 1000 hrs,” defence spokesman here said.

He said that Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing small arms and also shelling with heavy caliber weapons in Sunderbani Sector of Rajouri.

“Indian Army, in retaliation strongly, effectively to the firing while no injury has been reported on own side so far,” he added.

In a separate incident of ceasefire violation, one BSF jawan got injured on international border in Hiranagar sector of Kathua.

“Pakistani rangers resorted to brief unprovoked firing this morning in Hiranagar sector,” said the spokesman.

“One BSF person got injured while intermittent firing is on,” they said
