Charred body of man found in vehicle in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 18: Body of a man, who was electrocuted to death, was found under suspicious circumstances in a vehicle, in south Kashmir district of Shopian on Tuesday.

Official sources said panic gripped village Reshnagri in Shopian when some locals saw body of a man, who was electrocuted to death, lying inside a vehicle. “The locals immediately informed the police,” they said, adding a team was rushed to the area and the body was taken away.

They said the deceased was later identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Damhal Hanjipora, Kulgam. “Police have registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they said.

After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
