Mehbooba condoles demise of former J&K CS Iqbal Khandey

Srinagar, Nov 19: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Monday condoled the demise of former chief secretary Muhammad Iqbal Khanday.

The 1978-batch IAS officer passed away late last night at S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura.

In her condolence message, Ms Mehbooba, who is former chief minister of the state, said that Mr Khandey was a simple person easy to get along with and totally dedicated to his job.

Ms Mehbooba appreciated the significant contribution of the officer to various departments of the state he has served during his tenure.

The PDP President said in his death, the State Government has lost a dedicated officer and a generous human being.

She also expressed her deep sympathies to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
