Srinagar, Nov 11: Normal life remained crippled for the second successive day on Sunday at Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama against the killing of a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant in an encounter with security forces in the area on Friday.
Even though there was no strike call given by any separatists group, shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the road for the second day in Tral and adjoining areas in Pulwama on Sunday.
However, few private vehicles could be seen plying on some interior roads in Tral, where additional security forces and state police personnel have been deployed to prevent any untoward incident. Mobile internet service also remained suspended in the town since Friday.
JeM militant Anwar Abbasi was on Friday killed by security force in an encounter, during which a Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police constable was also injured.
