SSB constable killed in grenade attack by militants in Tral

Srinagar, Oct 21: A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) constable was killed, when militants lobbed a grenade at a CRPF camp in Tral in the south Kashmir district of Pulwama.

Official sources said that the militants fired a UBGL grenade towards a CRPF camp in Midoora, Tral at around 2030 hrs.

"A SSB constable, identified as Vijay Kumar, who was stationed in the camp for the recently concluded Urban Local Bodies elections (ULB) and the upcoming panchayat polls, was critically injured in the attack," they said.

The injured was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, they said the militants managed to escape from the spot under the darkness.
