J&K police on cusp of achieving its aim of eliminating terrorism :DGP

Jammu, Sep 18: Asserting that number of successful operations were conducted in past one week, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh said that the police force is near to the goal of finishing terrorism from the state.

“Jammu and Kashmir Police has been fighting the militancy from last so many years and keeping in view our capabilities, we are near our goal of completely finishing the militancy from the State,” Mr Singh said while addressing darbar of jawans at Police Auditorium here.

The DGP complimented the Jammu Police for successful operation at Kakriyal and added that by this clean operation with no fatal injury the achievement graph of Jammu police has gone further up.

He said that the response to the emerging situation was very quick and adequate.

DGP said that the police has the twin responsibility of being custodian and well as maintainer of the peace and we are premier stake holders in peace.

Going down the memory lane and referring to his probation period in Handwara, Kupwara the DGP said that over the years the facilities available in discharge of duties have increased manifold.

While giving the orders for speedy redressal of grievances the DGP appreciated some suggestions of the Jawans said that the personnel today are very capable and are thinking in a positive direction for the department.

He said, “it should be our priority to strengthen our Jawan who is the face of our force.”

Thanking the Governor Satya Pal Malik for increasing the ex-gratia relief the DGP said that we have great expectations and have projected the needs and requirements before the government.

He also assured the officers and jawans that he would work for their welfare and the decisions in this regard will be taken on appropriate forum.

In view of the Municipal Elections, the DGP directed the officers and jawans to be fully prepared for a peaceful and smooth election. He assured that their requirements will be looked into sympathetically.
