Two civilians injured in Pak firing in Kupwara

Baramulla, Aug 18: Two civilians were injured when Pakistani troops resorted to indiscriminate shelling and firing on Indian positions in Karnah sector in the frontier district of Kupwara, official sources said on Saturday.

The Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked indiscriminate firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in Karnah on Friday night.

Indian troops also returned the fire and the exchange of fire continued for some time, they said.

The injured identified as Zameer Ahmad and Jehangir Ahmad were rushed to a nearby hospital, they added.

According to the sources, damage suffered by Pakistani troops was not known yet. Pakistani troops had also violated ceasefire in Tanghdar sector in the district. No one was injured.
