DDC reviews functioning of health sector

UDHAMPUR: District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar reviewed the functioning of health sector in a meeting of District and Block level Medical officers, here today.
Programme Officer, ICDS, Additional SP, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, Dy. Chief Medical Officer, District Information Officer, Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Block Medical Officers besides officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the DDC took stock of various schemes like RBSK, NUHM, PC& PNDT and RNTC besides discussing MMR, IMR, Family planning, Immunization and Biomedical Waste management.
The DDC exhorted upon the concerned to generate more awareness about PC&PNDT Act by installing banners at bus stand and main chowks for awareness of the Act among people.
While stressing on holding frequent meetings to ascertain the progress registered under different schemes, the DDC asked the doctors to chalk out comprehensive plans so that optimum results could be obtained. He also asked for optimally utilizing services of ASHAs to ensure that infant and maternal mortality rate could be further reduced in the district.
The DDC directed the concerned Engineers to make detailed estimates of funds required to make the nonfunctional Health centers functional.
Earlier, Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur Dr. K.C Dogra gave a detailed resume of the activities being undertaken in the district under NHM.
