Shia Muslims in Ladakh celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr
Kargil, June 15: Shia sect of Muslims in the Ladakh region celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of holy fasting month of Ramadhan, with religious fervour and gaiety.
However, Sunni sect of Muslims will celebrate Eid tomorrow in the region.
Thousands of people, including women and children, joined Eid prayers in Eidgahs, open fields and mosques in Leh and Kargil. People in traditional and children in colorful dresses were seen offering special Eid prayers.
Shia members of the sect in Kashmir will celebrate Eid tomorrow.
