Srinagar, Oct 30: The Eid-Mild-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, was on Friday celebrated throughout the Kashmir valley with religious fervor and gaiety though night-long special prayers could not be held due to COVID-19 guidelines issued by the administration.

However, despite chilly winds, people, including women, joined “ Fajr” (morning) prayers at Asaar-e-Sharief Hazratbal on the bank of famed Dal Lake where they had the “ Deedar”(glimpse) of Holy Relic of Prophet Muhammad. The devotees will have the glimpse of Holy Relic after every prayers throughout the day.

No night-long prayers were organized in the shrine due to COVID-19 guidelines issued by the administration.

Similarly no night congregations were organized in other major shrines and mosques in the valley, including Srinagar.

People greeted each other on the occasion. Non Muslims were also seen greeting their Muslim brethren.

Reports of celebration of Eid-Milad were also received from other parts of the valley and Ladakh region.
