41802 IHHLs constructed in Bandipora

BANDIPORA: District Development Commissioner, Bandipora, Khursheed Ahmad Sanai, today convened a meeting to review the progress of Swachch Bharat Mission (SBM) Grameen in the district.
The meeting was informed that out of 43,996 Individual House Hold Latrines (IHHLs) as targeted for construction under the mission in the district some 41,802 IHHLs have been constructed so far.
It was said the remaining 2194 IHHLs for which each household shall be provided financial assistance of Rs. 12,000 shall be completed by the end of the current month.
The meeting was also informed that out of the total 12 Blocks 8 blocks, including Aloosa, Baghtoor, Ganasthan, Gurez, Hajin, Naidkhie, Nowgam and Sumbal, have been declared open defecation free.
The DDC asked the officers to gear up for the earliest declaration of Bandipora as Open Defecation Free district.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Ambassadors of SBM, DPO and all BDOs attended the meeting.
