KVK organises Training Programme on Entrepreneurship Development

Reasi: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of SKUAST-J today organised one day training programme on “Entrepreneurship Development in Organic Agriculture” at Talwara village.
A number of progressive farmers attended the programme.
Scientist & Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dr. Banarsi Lal interacted with the farmers and emphasized on the scientific organic crops production to create income. He also highlighted soil health management by using the organic agriculture technologies , addition of different organic inputs like organic manures, Panchgavaya, fermented butter milk, Beejamrit, Jeevamrit, cow urine, himsol, agnihotra neem cake, neem oil which are locally available, crops rotation and leguminous crops to increase the fertility of soil .
He further added that various diseases, insects-pests and weeds can be managed by crop rotation, sowing times and low cost locally available organic inputs.
He explained the organic management of insect-pests and diseases especially in Kharif season and guided the farmers on the use of Farm Yard Manures (FYM), vermicompost, biofertilisers, biofungicides, biopesticides, cow urine, mulching materials in the soil for the commercial organic agriculture.
The farmers were also informed about scientific nursery raising techniques and concept of soil solarisation.
Monkey menace in the area was discussed in detail and farmers were guided on the scientific production of organic turmeric and ginger.
The resource person also highlighted Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana and guided the farmers on marketing management of organic vegetables.
