Over 32 injured in Uri bus accident

Srinagar, Apr 17: Over 30 persons, including students, were injured in a road accident in border town of Uri in north Kashmir on Tuesday.

Official sources said a State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) bus on way to Uri from Gawalta overturned due to slippery road condition at Salamabad on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road at 0915 hrs resulting in injuries to 32 passengers, including some students were also injured in the accident.

The injured were rushed to local hospital from where about a dozen of them were referred to District Hospital, Baramulla, they said, adding 12 have been referred to Srinagar.

In a separate incident, a student of IUST, Awantipora, was injured when a truck hit bus of the university at Chanapora, on the city outskirts, this morning. The injured girl student was admitted to hospital, they said.
