Badnore greets people on Mahavir Jayanti

Chandigarh, Mar 28 : The Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh VP Singh Badnore has extended his greetings to the people of Punjab and Chandigarh on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti the birthday of Lord Mahavir.

Mr Badnore said that Lord Mahavir was an apostle of ahimsa peace and harmony and epitomised the spirit of non-violence, universal brotherhood, compassion and sacrifice. These noble principles, preached and practiced by Lord Mahavir, throughout his life, also reflect our composite culture and guide us in leading a virtuous, pious and purposeful life. These teachings have a greater relevance and source of inspiration in this present complex and materialistic World.

He expressed hope that this auspicious occasion will be celebrated by the people of all communities collectively with a new resolve to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and for the well being of mankind.
