Pak soldier reported killed in Indian retaliation to CFV

SRINAGAR: A Pakistani soldier was reportedly killed in Indian retaliation as Pakistan violated the ceasefire for second consecutive day in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district on Wednesday.
Pakistani today violated the truce along the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector, prompting retaliatory fire from the Indian Army in which a Pakistani soldier has reportedly been killed, an official said.
As per the Army officials, Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian posts in Tangdhar sector in Kupwara district Wednesday afternoon to which Indian soldiers retaliated to the aggression from across the LoC effectively.
"While there were no casualties on the Indian side, at least one Pakistani soldier has been reportedly killed in retaliatory firing by the Indian Army," the official said.
It may be mentioned here that a BSF jawan was martyred on Tuesday after he was shot by a Pakistani sniper from across the Line of Control in Tangdhar.
Constable S K Murmu (28) was deployed at a forward defended location (FDL) along the LoC in Karnah sector of the Tangdhar area, when a sniper shot hit him in the stomach around 4:30 pm on Tuesday.
He was initially evacuated on foot from the forward area and then taken to Srinagar in an Army helicopter. However, he succumbed to the fatal sniper shot at the Army hospital in Srinagar around 8:30 pm, last night.
The Pakistani troops had also violated ceasefire in Uri sector of Baramulla district on Monday, resulting in injuries to three civilians.
Meanwhile, security forces today busted a terrorist hideout in Kishtwar district and recovered a large cache of arms and explosives, an Army official said.
The hideout was found during a search operation in the Kesna forest area by personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles and the police, Jammu-based Indian Army Public Relations Officer (PRO) Lt Col Devender Anand said.
Two AK-56 Rifle, three 9mm Pistol, one Country made Pistol, 15 Magazines of AK-56 Rifle, 98 rounds of Pika, two rounds of UBGL, one round of RPG, two Binoculars, 12 detonators and two Radio Sets were recovered from the spot, Anand said.
"The hideout was used during the peak of militancy for sustenance. The security forces are continuing with their persistent operations to keep Kishtwar district safe and sanitised from terrorists as well as their support infrastructure," the officer said. He said that the recovery of war-like stores would deal a severe blow to plans of terrorists to revive militancy in the district.
