SRINAGAR: After landing in Kashmir with an idea to uplift BJP's downsizing graph in state, party's national general secretary and the man behind cobbling PDP-BJP alliance in state, Ram Madhav on Thursday held back-to-back meetings with BJP ministers till late evening amid complaints of 'non-performance' against some of them while assuring the party workers that their suggestions seeking 'more activeness from their representatives' will be taken into consideration.
Meanwhile this visit also had set tongue wagering within political spheres that there is minor cabinet re-shuffle on cards from BJP's quota.
Madhav, the in-charge Jammu and Kashmir affairs, chaired a meeting of BJP's ministers and workers on Thursday, reviewed the performance of the party's ministers and took feedback from workers after he arrived here in the forenoon.
"As soon as he reached in Srinagar, Ram Madhav chaired a meeting of Kashmir Unit of BJP, in which Valley incharge and state general secretary, Narinder Singh, state gen secy (Org) Ashok Koul and party's senior leader and MLC from Kashmir, Sofi Yusuf participated along with few other leaders from Kashmir wing," informed party sources.
They added, "During the meeting Ram Madhav sought inputs about Kashmir scenario, both political and organizational and also received first hand information of the working of coalition government from the perspective of Kashmir based BJP's leadership."
Party sources also added that visiting party leader Mr Madhav also began a very important one to one meeting with ministers, started from Deputy CM, Dr Nirmal Singh, who is also BJP top face in the state government at. The meeting held at Dy CM's official residence lasted around 45 minutes, followed by one to one meetings with each and every BJP minister.
"During the meeting with the BJP ministers, Ram Madhav discussed parameters of the work done by these ministers, working style of the government on the lines of agenda of alliance, achievements of the ministers in their concerned departments," said sources and also added that even some of the BJP ministers also prepared and submitted their proper report cards having details of their work.
Sources within BJP confirmed that the outcome of hectic round of meetings is 'indicator' to minor reshuffle in the Mehbooba Mufti's cabinet which may be in pipeline very soon from BJP's quota only.
However sources with fingers crossed concisely added that it may happen soon before shifting of Darbar to Jammu or right after moving of darbar to the winter capital.
A senior leader of the party from Kashmir, who attended the meeting, said that Madhav hinted at reshuffle of some of its ministers.
"He (Ram Madhav) told us if people ministers do not work properly, we will do the changes," the leader told The News Now.
BJP's State General Secretary (Org), Ashok Koul told The News Now that Ram Madhav listened to workers and activists, who suggested to him that the ministers and the party need to be more active.
"He assured the workers that their suggestions will be taken into consideration," Koul said.
"We called on Ram Madhav Ji where we presented him the performance report of our ministries, and he also took our feedback about the development and political situation in the state," a BJP Cabinet-rank minister told The News Now.
The BJP leader will be flying to Jammu on Friday where he will meet CM who flew to winter capital on Thursday.
"Madhav will meet the chief minister tomorrow in Jammu after he finishes his meetings with workers there," Koul told media persons.
Madhav's visit was a follow-up to the recent visit of his colleague and general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal. These sequential meetings and hectic efforts of the BJP high-command is attributed to number of complaints submitted to the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh by various delegations including sister concern of BJP concerning allegations of high-headedness of BJP ministers and gap among workers and leaders.
Meanwhile, about the reshuffle and his meeting with the party workers, Madhav said that the workers have vowed to make the party stronger here.
"The workers feel that the BJP and PM Modi's leadership is drawing huge support from the state especially in the valley. They desire that they be heard more and get more help from the government," he told reporters after his meeting with the workers.
"We will talk to our and PDP ministers on this so that our workers get full support from the government," he said.
About the reshuffle, he said, "There is no discussion on reshuffle. When it takes place, we will let you know."
Sources in organisational set-up and close to New Delhi said that reshuffle or expansion on a bigger level in J&K is not on cards so far, but minor reshuffle cannot be rule out and there are strong chances that departments of few of the ministers reshuffle.
"There is no induction of new face at this moment and if it happens there will be only one induction replacing another," concluded sources.
