Woman killed in Pak shelling in forward posts, villages in Poonch

A woman was killed in ceasefire violation and shelling by Pakistan in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, early today. "Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 0515 hrs in Poonch sector along the Line of Control (LC)," a defence spokesman here said.

Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively, he said, adding that the firing ceased at 0645 hrs. Meanwhile, police sources said that one Raqia Bi, resident of Kallarian Gohlad, died on the spot when Pakistani shell hit at her residence.
