Cop suspended, SPO attached for beating scribe in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 29: A constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police was suspended, while a special police officer was attached today for allegedly thrashing a scribe in Akhnoor area here.

Two police personnel identified as SPO Monu and Constable Manjeet deployed with Sub Divisional Police Officer Akhnoor were placed under suspension for allegedly beating a journalist of Hindi National Daily. "The scribe had gone to SDPO's office for some personal work and had verbal dual with policemen, which led to scuffle and he was manhandled inside the office," sources here said.

They said an enquiry has also been ordered into the case.
